Paris Train Station Unveils Ancient Necropolis.
An ancient necropolis containing 50 graves has been discovered just meters from a busy train station in Paris. The site offers a rare glimpse into life in the French capital's precursor Lutetia nearly 2000 years ago. The skeletons were buried in wooden coffins, and more than half were buried alongside offerings such as ceramic jugs and goblets. The discovery will help understand the life of the Parisii nearly two thousand years ago.
