The driver of a tractor-trailer involved in a fatal crash on Florida's Turnpike has been charged with vehicular homicide and immigration violations; he is in the country illegally from Mexico and will be deported after legal proceedings.
An illegal immigrant, Harjinder Singh, was charged with vehicular homicide after causing a crash on Florida's Turnpike that killed three people. Singh, who entered the U.S. illegally in 2018, attempted a U-turn in an 'official use only' area, leading to a fatal collision. He is currently held on state charges and an ICE detainer, with plans for deportation after the legal process.
Two people were killed and one person was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Florida Turnpike in Lake County. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near mile marker 280 in Clermont when a Chevrolet Silverado ran off the roadway and crashed into a concrete storm drain box, causing the vehicle to rollover. The driver and a rear passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, while the right front passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
A head-on collision on Florida’s Turnpike led to the temporary closure of all northbound and southbound lanes of the highway. A white Chevy Camaro heading north in the southbound lanes crashed head-on into a silver Toyota pickup truck heading south. The driver of the Camaro suffered serious injuries and was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center via air rescue helicopter. The other driver suffered minor injuries. The roadway will re-open once the transport is complete.
