Multiple Wrong Way Crashes Cause Chaos on Florida's Turnpike in Miami-Dade

A head-on collision on Florida’s Turnpike led to the temporary closure of all northbound and southbound lanes of the highway. A white Chevy Camaro heading north in the southbound lanes crashed head-on into a silver Toyota pickup truck heading south. The driver of the Camaro suffered serious injuries and was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center via air rescue helicopter. The other driver suffered minor injuries. The roadway will re-open once the transport is complete.
