Southwest expands routes and introduces new nonstop flights to popular destinations
Southwest Airlines has announced 30 new airline routes in its latest schedule update, extending its booking schedule through August 2024. The new routes include destinations across Southwest's route map, with a focus on cities like Colorado Springs, Bozeman, Pittsburgh, and Albany. The biggest change comes in Florida, where Southwest will shift most of its international flights from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando, discontinuing six routes and adding nonstop flights to San Jose, Costa Rica. The airline aims to optimize its network in response to post-pandemic travel trends and provide customers with more access to its domestic network.
