Dry and Windy Weather Sparks Brush Fires in Northeastern US

Warm and dry weather conditions increase the threat of brushfires in the New Jersey area due to the lack of grass and brush. A fire weather watch is in place throughout Pennsylvania, and a red flag warning is currently in place for Connecticut. Although New York and New Jersey were not issued those warnings, the threat to this area is still very real. Strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels will create a significantly elevated fire growth potential.
