The lab, operated by Chinese nationals through a company called Prestige BioTech, was repeatedly hit with safety violations and housed at least 20 infectious diseases, bacteria, and viruses. The mice in the lab suffered from cannibalism, barbering, and medical issues. Investigations by multiple agencies are ongoing, and a House panel will hold a hearing on biosafety and biosecurity standards to protect against future pandemics.
