The upcoming Nest Doorbell 2K (3rd generation) leaks reveal a higher resolution of 2048 x 2048 HDR and a wider 166° diagonal field of view, up from previous specs, with unchanged night vision, audio, weather resistance, and power requirements. It will include various accessories and require a subscription for certain features.
The Viture Beast AR glasses, launching in October at $549, feature the best screen quality seen on AR glasses with a 1200p display and customizable screens, but lack hardware myopia adjustment and have a slightly narrower 58-degree field of view compared to earlier reports. Meta's first consumer-facing AR glasses, codenamed Artemis, will reportedly not feature the high-end displays originally planned. Instead, they will use older glass lenses and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) display technology. The glasses may have a limited field of view of 50 degrees, compared to the originally planned 70 degrees. Meta is also downgrading other components, such as removing the lidar sensor from the wireless puck that accompanies the device. The company is scaling back on its ill-received Quest Pro headset and focusing on its line of cheaper Quest headsets.
