Charges against Utah plastic surgeon Michael Kirk Moore Jr. and his associates for allegedly selling fake COVID-19 vaccination cards and destroying vaccines were dismissed by the Department of Justice, citing lack of evidence of a crime, amid public and political support claiming his actions were not criminal.
The CDC has announced that it will no longer issue COVID-19 vaccination cards and will not keep records of people's vaccinations. Individuals can obtain their vaccination records by contacting their state health department's immunization information system or their immunization providers. The use of vaccination cards became widespread during the pandemic, but the production of fake cards is illegal and punishable under federal law. Several cases of individuals selling or possessing fake vaccination cards have resulted in arrests and charges.
