Ukraine's Defense Requests and Partnerships Strengthened with US Support
Ukraine has presented a list of U.S. weapons it needs to combat the Russian military, including advanced air defense systems like the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), F-18 "Hornet" fighter jets, drones, Apache and Blackhawk helicopters. The list also includes big-ticket items such as C-17 Globemaster transport jets and C-130 Super Hercules, as well as F-16s, long-range ATACMS missiles, and various types of drones. Ukraine is seeking Western military aid to continue its fight against Russia, and the requested weapons would amount to billions of dollars in purchases or donations.
