"India-Canada Diplomatic Row: Tensions Simmer, Trade Unaffected"

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed concern over the Indian government's crackdown on Canadian diplomats, stating that it was making life difficult for millions of people in both countries. Canada recently withdrew 41 diplomats from India after an Indian threat to revoke their status, following Trudeau's suggestion that Indian agents may have been involved in the murder of a Sikh terrorist in Canada. Trudeau warned that the expulsion of diplomats would hinder travel, trade, and education for Indians in Canada, and expressed concern for the wellbeing of Canadians with Indian heritage. India defended its actions, citing interference in internal affairs and the need for diplomatic parity.
