Mission Darkness has developed the CYBERCYLENT Faraday tent, designed to protect vehicles like Tesla's Cybertruck from EMP attacks by using specialized materials to block electromagnetic fields. This tent, which can be set up in about 30 minutes, offers military-grade protection and is also suitable for other vehicles, making it a practical choice for those preparing for potential EMP threats.

James Wiebe from Radiant Instruments is collaborating with Comp Air Aviation to develop an aircraft deicing system that uses an electromagnetic pulse to deform the skin of the aircraft and shed ice. By discharging roughly 1,000 volts through a coil at a peak current of 1,000 amps, the system delivers a powerful blow to the surface, causing ice to debond and fall away. This technology has the potential to improve safety and utility in general aviation.

A rare atmospheric event known as an ELVE, or Emission of Light and Very Low-Frequency perturbations due to Electromagnetic Pulse Sources, was captured on camera in the Italian sky. ELVES are an excitation of nitrogen in the atmosphere caused by electrical discharges, taking the color red like in the lower edges of northern lights. They are flat and can extend for hundreds of kilometers in the ionosphere. These peculiar events were only discovered in 1990 by the crew of Space Shuttle Discovery on the mission that sent the Ulysses probe to study the Sun.
