GOP Reaps Rewards from Business Donor Investments
In the recent election cycle, business donors overwhelmingly supported the Republican Party, contributing over $425 million, with nearly two-thirds of this amount going to GOP candidates. This investment paid off as over 90% of the funds went to winning candidates, particularly benefiting industries like agriculture, defense, and financial services, including the cryptocurrency sector. Notably, Elon Musk was a significant contributor, spending $133.2 million to support Republican candidates. In contrast, labor groups saw poor returns, with only 44% of their $70 million backing winning candidates.
