The measure, spurred by fatal crashes, updates safety rules for the first time in six years.

They view e-bikes as practical transportation that can be charged with limited electricity or solar, helping mobility and family time, while a minority oppose them over concerns they could hasten a shift toward cars and erode traditional skills.

"Whyte Elyte 150: A Top-Notch E-Bike with Exceptional Handling"

The Whyte Elyte 150, equipped with the new Bosch SX motor, offers impressive power and range compared to other SL e-bikes, making it one of the best-handling e-bikes for steep and twisty terrain. With a full-carbon frame, 600W peak power, and a 400Wh battery, it provides stability on descents and maneuverability through tight turns. The bike's geometry adjustment and short cranks contribute to its agility, while the suspension performance and Bosch SX motor make it suitable for quick climbs and maximum fun on the way back down. However, it may not be the best for steep and technical climbs, and the stock cockpit may be too low for some sizes.

Experts emphasize the need for increased helmet use, urban design changes, helmet laws and enforcement, and education to prevent e-bike injuries, especially among children.

Queens Scooter Shop Raided for Dangerous Lithium-Ion Battery Production

The FDNY shut down a Queens e-bike shop for building and refurbishing dangerous lithium-ion battery packs, which were being sold for $2,000 to $4,000. The shop had been open for about four months and was found to have around 60 battery packs, hundreds of individual lithium-ion cells, 25 e-scooters, and 25 combination electric and gas mopeds. The city has been cracking down on illegal off-brand batteries, which caused 268 fires, 18 fatalities, and 150 injuries last year. The city's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection has conducted over 500 inspections and issued nearly 200 violations to businesses since last September.
