"Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger, 60, was involved in a high-speed DUI crash that totaled her luxury 2017 Maserati in Potomac. Photos obtained by TMZ show the extensive damage caused as she swerved off the road, striking a median, crosswalk sign, and a tree, leaving tire marks on the grass and taking a chunk of bark from the tree. Huger faces charges of driving under the influence and driving while impaired by alcohol, along with six traffic violations. She reportedly refused a breathalyzer test and claimed her emotions were running high prior to the crash.
Jamie Lee Komoroski, charged with homicide in a crash that killed a bride on her wedding night, has been released on bail after posting $150,000 bond. She will be on house arrest, wear an alcohol monitoring device, and only be allowed to leave her home for medical emergencies or court orders. The crash occurred in South Carolina in April 2023 when Komoroski, with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit, rear-ended a golf cart carrying the newlyweds, killing the bride and injuring others.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson has commuted the three-year sentence of Britt Reid, son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who was convicted in a DUI crash that severely injured five-year-old Ariel Young. Reid will be under house arrest until Oct. 31, 2025, with strict probation conditions, including weekly meetings with a parole officer, behavioral counseling, peer support, and community service. Ariel's mother expressed disappointment that Reid didn't receive the maximum sentence, as her daughter had to undergo extensive recovery after the crash.
An off-duty LAPD officer and a passenger were killed when their car was struck by a BMW traveling at over 100 mph in a possible DUI crash. The BMW driver ran a red light before the collision, shearing off a hydrant and sending one of the cars into an apartment. The 20-year-old driver was arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Three other people, including an off-duty San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy, were hospitalized. The officer, survived by his fiancée and two young sons, had just under five years on the job.
