Honda will end production of the current Acura RDX this year as the next-gen model adopts a dual-motor hybrid system; the Acura RSX EV remains on track for late 2024 production at Honda’s Ohio factory, while Honda has canceled the ZDX and delayed the Zero Series SUV as it shifts its EV strategy toward more hybrids and traditional gas-powered models.
Volkswagen introduces the ID.7 GTX Tourer, its most powerful production wagon with 335 hp from dual electric motors, all-wheel drive, and a towing capacity of 3,086 pounds. Equipped with an 86.0-kilowatt-hour battery, it can be charged at up to 200 kilowatts using DC, offering a range likely less than the rear-wheel-drive model's 426 miles. The sportier-looking electric wagon features 20-inch alloys, red accents, and GTX logos, while maintaining the same cargo capacity as the standard ID.7 Tourer. Unfortunately, it won't be available in the US, with sales starting in Europe this spring.
Ram has revealed the details of its upcoming electric pickup truck, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV, which will come with a standard 168-kWh battery offering 350 miles of range and an optional 229-kWh battery offering up to 500 miles. The truck will make 654 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque, tow up to 14,000 pounds, and have dual-motor all-wheel drive with one motor at each axle. It will also come with modern safety and driver-assist features, including hands-free active driving assist and automated parking. The REV will target the luxury end of the full-size electric pickup truck segment and is expected to go on sale toward the end of 2024.
