A violent drug ring that sold fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine to unsuspecting buyers who thought they were buying oxycodone has been busted in upstate New York. The bust resulted in the arrest of 48 people and the seizure of more than 10 kilograms of fentanyl, 10-plus kilograms of cocaine, and more than a quarter pound of heroin totaling $9 million. Nicholas Tartaglione, a retired police officer who had shared a cell with Jeffrey Epstein, has been convicted of murdering four men over a debt. Prosecutors said that Tartaglione, who had been running a drug ring, lured the victims to a bar planning to collect on a debt, tortured one of them, and forced one of his nephews to watch as he strangled him with a zip tie. Despite meeting with agents at least twice, the grandmother continued to correspond on WhatsApp with someone using a country code from India in March 2023. Segovia has been released with no bond and placed under supervised release.
