NYC Comptroller Rejects $432M Migrant Services Contract with DocGo

The $432 million no-bid contract awarded by New York City officials to medical services provider DocGo for housing and caring for migrants has been rejected by the city comptroller's office. Comptroller Brad Lander raised concerns about DocGo's lack of experience in providing services such as social work and housing, as well as the company's questionable financial value and workplace violations. The rejection prevents the city from paying DocGo for any work submitted under the contract, but Mayor Eric Adams has the power to override the decision. The contract has already faced scrutiny for bypassing competitive bidding processes and allegations of mistreatment of migrants.
