Asylum seekers cause controversy in Upstate NY.
A hotel in Salina, New York, became the center of an international drama as guests and officials waited for the arrival of Central New York's first bus of migrants from New York City. The hotel had been kicking out long-term residents to make room for the migrants, but the arrival of the bus was uncertain. Onondaga County and the town of Salina filed lawsuits to stop the bus, and a temporary restraining order was approved. Despite the presence of DocGo workers and boxes of food labeled for migrants, the bus never arrived, and it is unclear if it was ever actually scheduled to come.
