
New Fossils Reveal Secrets of Dinosaur Mummies and Their Preservation
Paleontologists examined two well-preserved specimens of Edmontosaurus annectens, revealing detailed features such as scales, a crest, spikes, and notably, hooves on the hind feet, providing new insights into the appearance and anatomy of this duck-billed dinosaur. The findings, published in Science, include the first confirmed hooves in a land vertebrate and highlight the exceptional preservation in Wyoming's 'mummy zone.'
