"FDA Forms Committee to Guide Digital Health Technology"
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the establishment of a new Digital Health Advisory Committee to address the scientific and technical aspects of digital health technologies (DHTs) such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, wearables, and remote patient monitoring. The committee will provide expertise and guidance to improve the FDA's understanding of the benefits, risks, and clinical outcomes associated with DHTs. Its goal is to support the development of safe and effective digital health technologies while promoting innovation and health equity. The committee will consist of nine voting members and will be fully operational in 2024.
