Denis Kapustin, leader of the far-right Russian Volunteer Corps fighting alongside Kyiv in Ukraine, was killed in action in the Zaporizhzhia region. Kapustin, known as White Rex, was a neo-Nazi and founder of the RVC, which aims to overthrow Putin and establish an ethnic Russian state. He was on Russia’s terrorist and extremist list and involved in far-right activities across Europe.
Ukraine is facing the risk of its front lines collapsing as it embraces a controversial figure, Denis Kapustin, described as a top neo-Nazi by Germany, to combat Putin. There are concerns about Ukraine's ability to build sufficient defenses against a potential Russian offensive, leading to hopes that President Zelenskyy can secure continued U.S. support through persuasion.
The Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) commander, Denis Kapustin, has said that his group will launch more incursions into Russian territory from Ukraine. Kapustin's RVC and the allied Freedom of Russia Legion claimed responsibility for the incursion on Monday and Tuesday. The Russian military said that it routed the raiders with artillery and air attacks that killed more than 70 of what it described as "Ukrainian nationalists" on a sabotage mission designed to deflect attention from Russia's gains in the bombed-out city of Bakhmut.
