Berkeley deli loses $20K in inventory due to storm damage.

Delirama, a small business in Berkeley, lost over $20,000 worth of inventory, including 2,000 pounds of meat, due to recent storms that caused a power outage for more than three days. The owners are trying to keep the business open and have started a GoFundMe to help cover some of their losses. They estimate it could take almost a month to get back to business. The owners may do pop-ups to help cover their bills and are keeping their fans updated on their recovery through their website and social media.

Pastrami worth 2,000 pounds spoiled due to power outage at Bay Area restaurant.

A power outage caused by Tuesday's storm in Berkeley has forced Delirama, a popular sandwich shop, to discard 2,000 pounds of brisket used to make its famous pastrami sandwiches. The loss may cost the shop up to $100,000 in revenue. The shop is launching a GoFundMe page to help pay for the wasted pastrami and buy a commercial generator to keep the refrigerator online during any future outages. Delirama may not be able to remain open in the longer term, co-owner Cash Caris said.
