A study in Italy found that attachment anxiety can lead to problematic social media use through a chain involving loneliness and death anxiety, highlighting psychological factors that may inform targeted interventions.
A new study published in Psychology of Consciousness suggests that out-of-body experiences can have a positive impact on mental well-being. The study found that there are eight core themes of transformation one is likely to encounter following an out-of-body experience, including reduced fear of death, enhanced inner peace, and increased self-awareness. The researchers suggest that learning to induce out-of-body experiences reliably could enable individuals to fully harness the psychological benefits that are associated with them, potentially in a clinical setting to treat conditions such as death anxiety. However, more research is needed to determine the longevity of these effects.
