U.S. Treasury Takes Action Against Officials Undermining Dayton Peace Agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has designated one state-level official of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and three government officials from the Republika Srpska (RS) for undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement. These officials are responsible for encouraging the passage of a law in the RS that declares the decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court inapplicable, thus obstructing the implementation of the peace agreement. The U.S. government aims to support the rule of law and promote peace and stability in the Western Balkans region.
