"Rising Risk: Heart Failure Emerges as Top Complication of Atrial Fibrillation"

Danish research suggests that one in three people will develop atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat condition, in their lifetime, with an increased risk of stroke and heart failure. The study found that up to two in five people with atrial fibrillation are likely to develop heart failure, and one in five will suffer a stroke. The researchers emphasized the critical need for treatments to decrease stroke risk and heart failure prevention strategies among patients with atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation can cause problems such as dizziness, shortness of breath, and tiredness, and affects around 1 million people in the UK.
