Apple's iOS 26 introduces several new features including the ability to set custom ringtones directly, enhanced call management with Call Screening and Hold Assist, native polls in Messages, an improved AutoMix feature in Apple Music, and an Adaptive Power Mode to extend battery life, all while maintaining a redesigned interface and other minor improvements.
iOS 26 introduces a new feature allowing users to set custom ringtones directly from the Files app without needing GarageBand, by sharing an MP3 or M4A file under 30 seconds and selecting 'Use as Ringtone'. This feature expands ringtone customization options, although Apple still sells traditional 30-second song ringtones through the iTunes Store. The update is currently in beta.
Nothing Phone introduces a new sound pack in collaboration with Swedish House Mafia for its Glyph Composer feature, allowing users to create custom ringtones with sounds that correspond to the lights on the back of the phone. The new sounds have a dance music vibe and are smoother and easier to listen to compared to the default ringtones. The sound pack will be available for both Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2) through an update to the Glyph Composer app.
