Russian Journalist Loses Custody of Daughter After Live TV Protest Against War
Marina Ovsyannikova, the Russian journalist who gained international attention for protesting against the war on live TV, has revealed that a Moscow court has stripped her of custody rights for her daughter, citing "political reasons." Ovsyannikova's ex-husband initiated the legal action, resulting in the removal of her custody rights for both her 11-year-old daughter in Paris and her 17-year-old son in Russia. Ovsyannikova, who fled Russia with her daughter last year, expressed hope that France, where she has been granted political asylum, will not allow her daughter to be handed over to Russian authorities. She criticized the Russian judicial system, stating that all courts in Russia are controlled by the Kremlin.
