Revised Age of the 'Man in the Moon' Surprises Scientists

New research suggests that the Mare Imbrium, the region of the moon where the "man in the moon" is located, is much older than previously believed. By correlating dating results from moon rock samples with the sites they were collected from, researchers have found that large portions of the lunar crust are around 200 million years older than previously thought. This discovery could help scientists understand the early evolution of life on Earth and other planets, such as Mars.
