Cosmic Rays Reveal Lithium-7 Origins
A 12-year study using the AMS-02 instrument aboard the International Space Station measured cosmic-ray fluxes of lithium isotopes, providing evidence that both 6Li and 7Li are primarily produced through cosmic ray collisions, challenging previous theories of primordial origin for 7Li, and enhancing understanding of the universe's chemical evolution.
