UC Davis Implements Contact Tracing to Contain Tuberculosis Outbreak
UC Davis is investigating a case of contagious tuberculosis on campus and is working with health officials to conduct contract tracing and prevent the disease from spreading. The exposure risk to the general community is low. Symptoms of active TB include cough, chest pain, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, chills, fever, and night sweats. TB is treatable and curable, and most people with an inactive TB infection are not contagious.
