Turkish Opposition Leader Accuses Russia of Election Interference with Deep Fakes and Conspiracies.

Turkish opposition leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu accused Russia of spreading conspiracies and deep fakes ahead of the upcoming election. He urged Russia to stay away from Turkish state and said that they are still in favor of cooperation and friendship. Meanwhile, another opposition candidate, Muharrem İnce, withdrew from the presidential race after a sex tape allegedly showing him surfaced on social media. Kılıçdaroğlu is currently polling ahead of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Republican-led states continue to withdraw from voter fraud prevention group.

Ohio has become the latest Republican-led state to withdraw from the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), a multi-state partnership that allows states to share voter data with each other. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, a Republican, cited ERIC's refusal to embrace reforms and its transformation into a partisan organization as reasons for the withdrawal. ERIC is considered the only reliable and secure way for states to share voter data with each other. Six Republican states have now either pulled out or announced an intention to pull out of the partnership since early 2022.
