
Imran Khan's Jail Trial Declared Null and Void by Pakistan's Top Court
The Islamabad High Court has declared the jail trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in the cipher case as "null and void," nullifying the August 29 notification. The court stated that a jail trial can only be conducted in exceptional circumstances and in accordance with the procedure provided by law. The court also declared that all notifications issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice regarding the jail trial are of no legal effect. Imran Khan is currently detained in Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on judicial remand.
