People at risk for this type of thyroid cancer are advised against taking the medication. Reports of pancreatitis have also been associated with this medication. As for taking atorvastatin, if it was prescribed due to arterial blockages, it is recommended to continue. However, if it was prescribed for prevention and there are no side effects, the decision to continue is up to the individual.
