"Christmas Eve Launch: ULA's Vulcan Rocket Takes Flight"
United Launch Alliance (ULA) has announced that its first Vulcan Centaur rocket will launch on Christmas Eve, carrying the commercial lunar lander Peregrine developed by Astrobotic. The launch date is driven by the lighting and communication requirements of the lunar mission. If the launch does not occur on December 24, there is a backup window in January. ULA plans to perform several Vulcan launches in 2024 and increase the launch rate to meet the needs of customers like Amazon's Project Kuiper.
