Rare Christian Burial Unveils Face of Medieval Teen Girl.
The face of a 16-year-old girl who lived in Medieval Europe and was likely an early convert to Christianity has been revealed through facial reconstruction. The girl was buried in a bed, which was quite unusual for the period, and the grave contained a rare gold and garnet cross, indicating that she was part of the elite. The Trumpington cross is one of only five of its kind ever found in Britain. The girl's bones and teeth suggest that she migrated to England from southern Germany in her early teens.
