Chicago Cop Sentenced to Home Detention for Jan. 6 Capitol Riot
A Chicago cop and his sister, convicted of misdemeanors for entering the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot, were sentenced to 90 days of home detention and three years of probation by U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes, who delivered a scathing denunciation of the events of that day and warned about the risks to democracy. The judge also imposed restrictions on the cop's possession of firearms and criticized their lack of remorse, while emphasizing the lack of widespread fraud in the election.
