The proposed sale includes areas offshore Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, with the potential to power over 2.2 million homes with clean energy. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is seeking public comments on the lease areas, and the proposed sale notice initiates a 60-day public comment period. The Department of the Interior has already approved six commercial-scale offshore wind energy projects and is committed to expanding offshore wind opportunities.
