A study in China found that the prevalence of ceftriaxone-resistant gonorrhea isolates nearly tripled between 2017 and 2021, with some provinces showing rates above 25 percent. This poses a pressing public health concern not only for China but for the entire world, as these resistant clones have spread internationally.
