YouTuber Zack Nelson, known as JerryRigEverything, has accused phone case company Casetify of copying his Teardown line of cases, which feature designs resembling the internal components of devices. Nelson discovered that Casetify's cases had similarities to his designs, including inside jokes and Easter eggs. While Casetify attempted to remove some of the Easter eggs, Nelson claims that they can still be found in scans of the brand's work. The YouTuber plans to provide updates on the case through his YouTube channel.

Dbrand, the device skin company known for its Teardown designs, is suing rival Casetify for allegedly copying its designs. Dbrand's Teardown skins and cases make devices look like their internals, requiring careful disassembly and scanning. Casetify launched a similar line of phone cases called Inside Parts, but users noticed inconsistencies in the designs. Dbrand claims Casetify stole its designs and attempted to conceal the copycats. Dbrand has filed a federal lawsuit seeking damages in Canadian courts. Dbrand is also launching new X-ray skins and cases, coinciding with the lawsuit.

The collection includes iPhone cases, AirPods Pro cases, Apple Watch bands, and MagSafe chargers, all featuring designs inspired by the show. The highlight of the series is a limited-edition AirPods Pro case that transforms the case into a purple mecha head resembling Evangelion's Unit-01. The accessories will be available for purchase on July 20th, and a Tokyo exhibit will showcase the products from July 20th to 25th.

Casetify has collaborated with Studio Khara to release a new line of Evangelion-inspired iPhone and AirPods cases and chargers. The Project-CSTF: Protection from Impact series features impact-absorbing shielding to protect devices from falls, with designs inspired by Evangelion pilots and mechs. Additionally, a charging dock and an AirPods Pro case modeled after Eva Test Type-01's head will be available. To celebrate the collaboration, Casetify is hosting an outdoor exhibition in Japan until July 25th. Pricing details are yet to be announced, but interested fans can sign up for a waitlist and unlock digital replicas of the products using an AR marker card.
