Workhorse Group, an electric vehicle manufacturer, reported a Q3 loss due to California excluding its electric trucks from an incentive program, leading to a lack of customer orders. The company is considering selling its drone business to conserve cash for its core medium-duty electric truck operation. Workhorse has been revamping its product lineup to ensure automotive-grade quality, but fleets are hesitant to order electric trucks due to concerns about durability and the implementation of the Advanced Clean Fleets rule. Gas Prices Plummet in Southern California, But L.A. Drivers Still Paying a Premium

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County has seen its largest decrease since October 2022, dropping 6.2 cents to $6.083. This marks the seventh consecutive day of decreasing prices, with a total drop of 23.2 cents over the past week. The decrease is attributed to Governor Gavin Newsom's directive to allow refineries to produce and distribute cheaper winter-blend gasoline. Despite the recent decreases, gas prices in Los Angeles County remain 65.3 cents higher than a month ago. In Orange County, the average price dropped under $6 for the first time since September 22, decreasing 6.8 cents to $5.942. The national average price of gas has also dropped, decreasing 2.2 cents to $3.746.

Ford partners with Tesla for EV charging technology.

Ford has struck a deal with Tesla that will allow Ford-produced electric vehicles to charge at Tesla Supercharger stations in the US and Canada. Ford's EV models fitted with the Combined Charging System port will get access to Tesla's V3 Superchargers, although the vehicles will require a Tesla-developed adapter to use the stations. Separately, California Air Resources Board urged the Biden administration to approve a proposal that would require all new vehicles sold in the state by 2035 to be either electric or plug-in electric hybrids. Vietnamese EV automaker VinFast is recalling the entirety of its first shipment of vehicles sent to the US due to a software issue in the dashboard display.
