"Revamped: Port Authority's $10B Overhaul of NYC Bus Terminal Set to Begin in 2024"
The Port Authority is moving forward with plans to replace the Midtown bus terminal with a new "world class" facility, submitting a draft environmental impact statement and seeking federal approval and funding for the estimated $10 billion project, which will take at least eight years to complete and involve significant traffic disruptions. The new building will feature a shiny entrance, 3.5 acres of green space, and charging stations for electric buses, with the agency also proposing the construction of two skyscrapers to help cover costs.
