MotoGP riders Jorge Martin, Brad Binder, and Marc Marquez narrowly avoided a crash while racing towards the Tissot Sprint podium.

KTM's updated MotoGP bike, the RC16, showed promising performance at the Japanese Grand Prix, with Brad Binder setting a new lap record in practice and finishing second in the sprint race. However, Binder identified areas where the bike still lacks compared to Ducati, particularly in terms of rear tire wear and corner exit. While confident of further improvements with the carbon fiber chassis, Binder acknowledged that the RC16 is only a small step towards consistently challenging Ducati for the championship. Teammate Jack Miller also had a solid performance with the new bike, finishing fourth and sixth in the respective races.

Francesco Bagnaia wins the Motul TT Assen, outpacing Marco Bezzecchi and Aleix Espargaro. Brad Binder crossed the line in third but was demoted out of the top three for exceeding track limits on the last lap. Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco crashed out early in the race. Bagnaia's win sends a clear message to his rivals and strengthens his position in the 2023 MotoGP Championship.

MotoGP riders have agreed that the track limits at Assen are easy to overstep, following Brad Binder's demotion from third to fifth in the sprint race due to a minor infringement. Turn 8 and the last corner are the most challenging spots for track limits, with the fast left-hander at Turn 14 also posing a potential problem. Despite the difficulty, riders must adapt to the track's characteristics. Luca Marini also received a penalty for taking a shortcut at the final chicane.
Alex Marquez of Gresini Ducati topped the first session of practice for the MotoGP class at Mugello, followed by Fabio Quartararo on the Yamaha and Brad Binder on the KTM. Other prominent riders to miss out on provisional Q2 include Jack Miller and Aleix Espargaro, who is struggling with an ankle injury.

Brad Binder of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing wins the Gran Premio Michelin® de la República Argentina Tissot Sprint from P15 on the grid, beating Marco Bezzecchi of Mooney VR46 Racing Team by 0.072s. Luca Marini of Mooney VR46 Racing Team finished in third place. The 12-lap dash was a fast and ferocious start with passes galore, and Binder picked his way through the pack like a knife through butter. The Mooney VR46 duo finished in a brilliant P2 and P3. The Grand Prix race awaits on Sunday afternoon.
