Controversial Penalty Mars Quartararo's Austria MotoGP Sprint

Fabio Quartararo, the Yamaha rider, believes the penalty he received during the Austria MotoGP sprint race was undeserved after reviewing the replay footage. Quartararo had to serve a long lap penalty for causing a collision with Lorenzo Savadori. Although he initially thought he deserved the penalty, he changed his mind after seeing the images. Despite the setback, Quartararo managed to recover to 15th place and considered it a good experience for the future. He believes he has the pace to fight for a top-five finish in the upcoming grand prix.

Injury Woes Plague Top MotoGP Riders at Dutch GP

Fabio Quartararo, the 2021 MotoGP world champion, aggravated his fractured toe during the Dutch GP after crashing on the third lap of the race. He also appeared with his left arm in a sling after returning from the medical centre. Quartararo had a poor start from fourth on the grid, dropping to 12th on the first lap, and was still attempting to recover ground when he lost his bike. Despite the injury, he expects to be ready for the next race at Silverstone.

Marquez Secures Shock Pole at Portuguese MotoGP

Marc Marquez secured his first pole position since the 2022 Japanese Grand Prix at the MotoGP Portuguese GP, with reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin following in second and third place respectively. Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo struggled and could only manage 11th place. The new format for 2023 sees qualifying take place on Saturday morning and sets the grid for both the main grand prix on Sunday and the new sprint contest on Saturday afternoon.
