Senior Marcel Boyce Jr. made two free throws with 14.5 seconds remaining to secure the victory. Buchtel is the first Akron Public Schools team to win a boys basketball state championship since Central-Hower in 1986. Boyce finished with 18 points and six rebounds, leading Buchtel in scoring in six of the seven tournament games.
