Poland is investing over €2bn in anti-drone fortifications along its eastern border to counter Russian aerial threats, following recent drone incursions, with plans to complete the system within two years, amid heightened tensions and increased defense spending.
Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia are constructing extensive defensive installations, including bunkers, anti-tank ditches, and barbed wire, along their borders with Russia and Belarus in response to the war in Ukraine. The Baltic Defense Line, a key part of their agreement, aims to deter and impede potential Russian aggression. This initiative reflects the Baltic states' concerns about Russia's increasing belligerence and their willingness to independently bolster their defenses. Additionally, the three countries have also agreed to develop High Mobility Artillery Rocket System capabilities in collaboration with the U.S.
