"Violent Deaths and Ancient DNA: Unraveling Denmark's Prehistoric Murders"

The remains of a Neolithic man found in a Danish peat bog, known as Vittrup Man, have been studied by researchers who concluded that he was an immigrant brutally murdered around 5,000 years ago. Analysis of his dental plaque and DNA revealed that he may have been an itinerant flint trader who was sacrificed by hostile locals. The man's dietary changes and geographical shift were also uncovered, shedding light on his life history. The researchers speculate that he may have been a victim of feud or murder, but it is more probable that he was sacrificed in a ritualized manner.
