"Recalled Blood Pressure Medicine Contaminated with Oxycodone Tablet"
A batch of the blood pressure medication betaxolol is being voluntarily recalled by manufacturer KVK-Tech after a 5 mg oxycodone HCl pill was found on the packaging line. The recall is a precautionary measure as the two pills are similar in appearance and could potentially worsen heart and lung function if combined. Patients are advised to check their medication for batch numbers and expiration dates and not to take the affected lot. The tablets were distributed nationwide and the drugmaker is arranging for their return.
