AI detects early signs of Parkinson's disease through non-invasive blood testing.
An AI tool called CRANK-MS has been developed to detect Parkinson's disease years before symptoms appear by analyzing metabolites in blood samples. The tool uses machine learning to identify patterns and correlations between metabolites, and was able to detect Parkinson's disease risk with an accuracy of up to 96%. The researchers hope to test the system on larger cohorts in more parts of the world to see if the AI analysis holds up for Parkinson's disease.
