Leica has launched the M11 Monochrom, its fifth digital camera to only shoot black and white. Ricoh has announced the Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome, a DSLR camera designed exclusively for black-and-white photography and video. The camera uses a monochromatic-only sensor that has been completely redesigned and optimized for monochrome photography, resulting in extra-fine detail and sharpness and a richer gradation. The camera has three image modes specifically designed for black-and-white photography and can shoot video up to 4k/30p, although video will also be exclusively in black and white. The camera body will be available starting in late April and will cost $2,199.95 in the US.

The camera features a monochrome-specific 25.7-megapixel image sensor that produces extra-fine sharpness in images. It also includes three exclusive Custom Image modes for black-and-white photography. The camera will be available later this month as a body-only configuration through Ricoh and authorized retailers with a suggested retail price of $2,199.95.
