"VTYX Stock Plummets as Psoriasis Treatment Trials Fail"

Biotech company Ventyx Biosciences saw its stock plummet by over 80% after its psoriasis drug, VTX958, failed to meet efficacy expectations in Phase 2 testing. Only two out of four doses showed statistically significant improvements in symptoms, leading the company to abandon further development in the highly competitive psoriasis market. Ventyx is terminating the psoriasis study and an ongoing test in psoriatic arthritis but will continue studying VTX958 in patients with Crohn's disease.

Nuvalent Raises $300M in Public Stock Offering

Cancer biotech company Nuvalent has announced a $300 million public offering of its common stock following positive Phase I results for its ALK-selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor candidate, NVL-655, in ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer patients, with a 39% objective response rate observed in evaluable patients.

Verge Genomics and AstraZeneca Join Forces in $42M Drug Discovery Partnership

Verge Genomics has entered into a four-year, $882 million deal with AstraZeneca's rare disease division, Alexion, focusing on undisclosed rare neurodegenerative and neuromuscular diseases. As part of the deal, AstraZeneca will pay Verge $42 million upfront, including equity and near-term payments, and will also take an equity stake in Verge.
